Ancient Rite

Eoin Duignan: low whistles & uileann pipes

"You can hear straight away that there is heart and soul in this music, a deep love and understanding of the tradition out of which it comes and a maturity that grows out of more than thirty years performing and enjoying the music."

Eoin's gift for composition is highlighted here in ten original tracks written over five years. From the opening notes on the low whistle you will be carried on a musical odyssey with each track leading perfectly into the next and ending up with a beautiful Sean Nós song written by his grandfather and sung by his mother Gobnait and sister Muireann.

  • Virtuoso Bódhrán player and percussionist Robbie Harris
  • Máire Breathnach, who wrote and played the arrangements for viola and violin
